TESTIMONIALS

I developed Delicot™ with American Surgical Sponges for the first Keyhole Micro Neurosurgical Procedure™.  This ultra thin sponge has softness as well as strength, and remains stationary wherever it is placed by the surgeon.  It is easily removed at the termination of the surgical procedure.

Delicot surgical cottonoids are by far the best cottonoids available for neurosurgery.  Their pliability allows them to be more maneuverable than any cottonoid on the market.  This, coupled, with the variety of sizes enhances their versatility.  They can be used for the full gamut of neurosurgical procedures from complex spine surgery to keyhole microneurosurgery.  For the field of microneurosurgery there is no substitute for these exquisitely crafted sponges-they will enhance the capabilities of any neurosurgeon doing true microsurgery for skull base tumors, vascular neurosurgery, and intraventricular surgery.  Once you try them you will be addicted.

From the time I practiced Neurosurgery at the Mayo Clinic to my current

position at the Stanford University Hospital, I have used Americot because I find

it to be the most gentle and effective material for neurosurgical procedures.

Americot (cotton) was the first material used in a Neurosurgical paddie.

I have used the blue polyester Col-R-Sponge™ paddie, made by American Surgical Sponges since it was introduced.  It is a significant asset in surgery.  When thoroughly soaked in saline it becomes soft and pliable.  Once applied to brain, nerve root, or spinal cord it is easily visible to the naked eye, and through the microscope.  Most importantly, it is non stick and provides excellent protection during surgery.  It is readily changed during the operation, and easily removed at the end of the procedure.

The soft texture and supple pliability of these Delicot Surgical Paddies make them an important element of the skull base surgery armamentarium.  These superior Delicots are what I insist upon in all of my cases.
